Tour de France: Shimano Debuts Limited Edition Shoes

Move over Mavic. You’re no longer the only cycling shoe maker with kicks that are impossible to miss. Taking a cue from Mavic’s iconic yellow footwear offerings, Shimano has launched a limited edition bright blue version of its top-line R320 shoes.

Sharp-eyed cycling fans will have already spotted these new kicks on the roads of Corsica this past weekend. First to sport them were about two dozen riders in the on-going Tour de France, including stage 1 winner Marcel Kittel.

Aside from color, the new R320 is identical to the standard version, save for the highly limited quantity. Only about 350 pairs will be available in North America, which Shimano says is sure to make them a collector’s item.

Available sizes range from 36-50, with wide versions also available. Claimed weight is 470 grams for a size 40. Pricing has yet to be announced.
