Double Track Pro
The Double Track Pro is Thule’s newest platform hitch rack. It holds bikes securely in place via a set of articulating frame clamps and adjustable wheel trays. The wheel trays can be slid back and forth to accommodate a wide variety of bikes and are large enough to fit 5” fat bike tires. The entire package fold ups when not in use.
The new Thule has a claimed weight of 35 pounds, which is roughly 20 pounds less than the T2 Classic. It has a load capacity of 70 pounds (35 per tray). The Double Track is available for either a 1.25” or 2” receivers. Retail for the Double Track Pro is $349. That price includes integrated bike locks, a receiver lock, and a lifetime warranty. Oh, and it’s made in the USA.
Thule Pro Ride
If you prefer to carry bikes on top of your car, Thule’s new Pro Ride uses a soft clamp style mount similar to the Double Track Pro. The jaws mount around your downtube and are locked in place via a torque limited dial control. When the optimal pressure is achieved, the dial clicks like a gas cap.
The Pro Ride fits up to a 3” wide tire, although a 5” fat bike adapter is available separately. Each Pro Ride weighs roughly 20 pounds and has a 44-pound load capacity. Retail is $200.
