Rapha Rice vs Ornut Dogs

High schoolers take on a Pro Tour team in Ornut vs. Rapha edit battle.

Last month, fancy pants cycling clothier Rapha made us hungry for rice cakes with a video they produced featuring their Team Sky Pro Tour cycling team and its nutritionist. This week our taste buds got to hankering for deep fried pork products after the kids from the SF Composite High School MTB Team produced a corn dog-centric parody that smacked the twee out original.

The high schoolers had some help from their sponsor Ornot, a bike clothing brand and Rapha competitor with an obvious vested interest. Regardless, the lampoon is spot-on, and we’re pretty sure the Rapha guys are having as big a laugh as anyone.

We at Mtbr and RoadBikeReview are big fans of corn dogs, but have yet to try the Team Sky Rice Cakes. Fortunately, we found the recipe. Looks like a shootout is in order.

About the author: Don Palermini

Chicago-born editorial director Don Palermini became a cycling-based life-form in the sixth grade after completing a family road bike tour of his home state. Three years later he bought his first mountain bike to help mitigate the city's pothole-strewn streets, and began exploring the region's unpaved roads and trails. Those rides sparked a much larger journey which includes all manner of bike racing, commuting, on- and off-road bike advocacy, and a 20-plus-year marketing career in the cycling industry. Now residing in the San Francisco Bay Area and pedaling for Mtbr, his four favorite words in the English language are "breakfast served all day," together in that order.
