Bicycle Adventures is a touring company that has been around since 1984. They are based out of Redmond, WA but they offer organized cycling tours at unique and epic locations throughout the world (United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America). Starting this summer, they are partnering with Wahoo Fitness and they will give their tour guests the chance to test out the ELEMNT GPS enabled cycling computer. Wahoo Fitness is one of our favorite choices here at RoadBikeReview and the ELEMNT is an easy to use computer that is feature rich.
Bicycle Adventures uses top of the line Orbea road bikes for their tours and they look to offer a streamlined experience that allows riders to have key ride metrics, turn-by-turn directions, real-time GPS tracking and more at their fingertips.
The ELEMNT was designed by cyclists for cyclists and has a bright, large format display that can be set up to show only the stats (speed, distance, heart rate, power etc.) important to each individual rider. The LED indicators are also fully programmable to display turn-by-turn navigation cues or alert riders when they have exceeded an average speed or heart rate.
The ELEMNT has a companion app that is available on both iOS and Android platforms that allows riders to sync the computer with their phones to receive en-route calls, texts and email notifications. The ELEMNT also has live tracking capabilities so riders can send a link to family and friends to track their progress along each tour’s daily route. And of course, the ELEMNT works with Strava, RideWithGPS and many other popular data recording/analyzing/sharing options. If the Bicycle Adventures guest really likes their Wahoo ELEMNT, they have the option to buy it after their tour.
Bicycle Adventures Co-owner and President Todd Starnes states, “We fully expect our guests to fall in love with the ELEMNT. I did after one ride! The ELEMNT is easy to use and intuitive. It’s a huge benefit for guests to be able to follow our bike routes just like they’d use a GPS-enabled computer in their car. And I know our guides will appreciate being able to track all of our guests in real time so they know exactly where everyone is on a route.”
Starnes continues, “Our company designs trips for all ages and abilities: relaxed-pace, rails-to-trails routes; advanced road bike tours; family bike vacations; mountain biking trips and even multi-sport adventures. Small tour groups, national parks, scenic byways, 4- and 5-star accommodations and dining are our hallmarks. Options include top-of-the-line flat bar bikes, road bikes and mountain bikes. Lodging and full van and luggage support and most meals are included on all tours.
