That description is incorrect. All the new models with the new brake lever and hood design have the entirely new ultrashift mechanism, not escape. Campy is still making Veloce models in both the new ultrashift and the old escape models, but the esacape does not have the new brake hood and brake lever shape. I suspect the escape model is just being made for cheap OEM applications.

Thanks for the info. Is the new ultrashift really a different mechanism or just the old Ergo mech?
