Threw the Bones on the car before we left for Door County, WI. I brought the CX for myslef and The Wife's bike. Took The Kid's Chariot, too. The weather did not cooperate, but it wasn't as bad as what they got South of us.
The first day we went to Peninsula State Park. Only did 12 miles of trails there, but they were hillier than The Wife is used to. I was ready to do more, but had to watch The Kid at the beach.

The next day weather was pretty rough.

The following day I got out early and did 30 miles of backroads. More hills than I am used to, but it was pretty fun. It was also wet.Started off with mist, then rain, then mist, then sun, then rain. It all depends on where you are on the thumb of the mitten.

The Kid in the giant chair at Julie's, just at the entrance of Peninsula State Park.

Comedy is performed at the theater in the park. Usually home-grown plays, sometimes with one or two musical numbers.

I've been in this state for several years now (8-12, have to check the resume to be sure) and I still haven't made it up to that area yet. Gonna have to go there soon. And that banana split looks like it was real good too.

Thanks for sharing, looks like it was a good trip regardless of the weather we've been having.

Nice shots

and looks like a nice time.

One quibble: "female peacock" is an oxymoron. That would be "peahen," except those aren't -- they're guinea fowl, I'm pretty sure.

Door County is a very nice place to vacation. My wife & I went there a few years ago. Very nice roads, mostly 2 lane, but wide, and pastoral scenery are the norm. We stayed in a B&B that's also a working sheep farm. The east side of the peninsula is mmuch more rural and quiet than the west side. We didn't have our bikes with us, and I've always regretted that. Beautiful riding country. Most roads are flat to rolling with glass smooth pavement.

Thanks for the pics. i've been to many of the places in your photos. Brought back memories.

My bird-watching friends have taught me to observe significant details.
Peahen:

Guinea fowl:

The red on the face, short tail, and absence of the iridescent mantle on the neck are the giveaway.

Actually, I knew because one of my regular cycling routes takes me through a rural area where somebody raises guinea fowl, so I've seen them up close by the side of the road many times.

no ice, but it was cooler than last year. then again, last year was unseasonably warm and set some record highs. i just wish i had one more nice day to explore solo on the bike. isnt it always that way?
