Bolstered by a deal with reigning world champion Peter Sagan, 100% has jumped into the road cycling eyewear market.
If you've been watching the Spring Classics, you likely noticed Peter Sagan has eschewed typical roadie eyewear and opted for something more, well, goggle-like. A company mostly known for moto and gravity-based mountain bike goggles, 100% says it was the Slovakian world champion who contacted them about wearing their glasses. Obviously they obliged.
New for 2017 are the Speed Craft, Speed Coupe, and Type S, all of which come with 100%'s new Hyper lens, which is Sagan's personal choice. While the company has been making glasses for the last few years, they were historically considered podium props for sponsored moto riders. But that's now changing with a complete production overhaul, as the lenses are now made in France, the frames in Italy, and design is taking place in Los Angeles under the watchful eye of a new product director hired away from Oakley.

100% says the models are essentially the same, so these three glasses aren't exactly new in style. But they are completely redone when it comes to performance and quality. In addition to the Hyper lens, a mirror and smoke lens are also options throughout the three models.
Pricing for the Hyper/Mirror/Smoke lens for the Speedcraft is $195/$175/$155, $185/$165/$145 for the Speed Coupe, and the Type S model retails for $150/$130/$110. Each model comes with a hard foam carrying case and one extra lens, and they're expected to be available by late May. Staffers here at Sea Otter also hinted of more models in the pipeline that are expected to launch this August.
