I have a pair of 2yr old Tune hubs mag180-28R mig70 -20F that I would like to reuse for a new “all round” racing/fun ride set. Good climbers but also roll on the flats with limited cross wind negative - so I have been thinking carbon clincher or tubies 35 to 45 depth.

So what rims are available that would build up to a 1300g or less set. Zipp 202, edge 38s or 45s, others?

Zipp 303 tubies are in your depth range and they are nearly as light as 202s.

Or if you're worried about crosswinds, build the front with a 202 rim and the rear with a 303. Good luck with the build.

Zipp 303 vs Edge 45 Tubular Rims (303 changes)

Have it narrowed down - I really like the Edge products but think I have a line on 303 rim(s) at a really good price.

There is a weight diff but I would take a bit more durability over weight savings they will be plenty light.

Any reason to spend the extra $ for the edge product given the good pricing on the 303?

Any big changes in the 303 since they went to the dimples - one rim is an 08 the other would be an 06 or 07 model?

I'll sell you my Edge 38 tub rims for cheap (relatively...). w/ Record hubs and 14/15 DB spokes, the wheelset came to 1390. sub-1300g w/ Tune hubs and lighter spokes should be no problem.

And I'd go Edge before Zipp.
