You mean "carbon wrapped aluminum"? :lol:squareslinky said:I am about 240. I bought my bike a few months back. The only parts on it that came on it that are still on it as of now - frame, forks, bars, cranks, stem. The tires were the most recent change due to a nasty cut in one of them. The stem is next to go. I sold everything, but the carbon post. Anybody want to buy a carbon Cannondale post cheap? lol
How much does your wheelset weigh?I didn't plan on breakage, I planned on a rebuild depending on how much I liked the style of ride. My wheels are Ksyrium SL's (wheels are the only thing on the bike I thought would be an issue long term due to weight).
I am very happy with my ride and my purchases. And I am loving the workouts.
The published weight is 1,615g with the skewers and 1,485g without.2ndGen said:You mean "carbon wrapped aluminum"?
Yeah, my C9 won't last intact for very long.
Already have an Ultegra SL Crankset/Wellgo GR8 Pedals/
Bontrager XXX Lite OS Stem/Fizik Gel + Tape waiting to go on it.
How much does your wheelset weigh?
I'm trying to figure out how light I can go.
I'm hoping to be able to use a sub-1700g set.
Nice weight.ph0enix said:The published weight is 1,615g with the skewers and 1,485g without.
I weigh 220 lbs and ride a 2010 CAAD9. No problem so far. I am riding on a Campagnolo Eurus wheelset. They weigh 1500 gr. I have been through potholes without problems. Wheels are strong and stiff. I have been riding Campy Zonda on my cyclocross bike for the last 3 years. never had to touch them.2ndGen said:200+ pound CAAD9 riders...
What have you learned through trial and error?
What wheels are you riding?
What parts broke on you?

The CAAD9 4 post is C2 Carbon, 27.2. I didn't realize this until after I had the bike, the guy who built my bike told me to check the specs because it was carbon not carbon wrapped.2ndGen said:You mean "carbon wrapped aluminum"? :lol

Then you don't have an OEM post for the CAAD9 4.squareslinky said:nope.
Just ordered a CAAD9 4 a few weeks ago... cant wait to get it!2ndGen said:Then you don't have an OEM post for the CAAD9 4.
I was supposed to have a Sora front derailleur on my CAAD9 7, but got a Tiagra instead.
That buys me a nice amount of time since the Sora Fr Der is a more fidgety than a Tiagra.
Nice when Cannondale gives one more than they expect!

According to the specs, the CAAD9 1 and 4 both have the C2 full carbon post
The 5 and 6 have the C3 carbon wrapped post
What he said....squareslinky said:All seems pretty confusing, as C'dale seems have to have changed the specs and the numbering from 09 to 10. The post you pointed to is an '09 carbon wrapped C2. The '10 carbon wrapped post is a C3 according to the site.
I have a '10 C2 Cannondale full carbon post.
That's what I have on my Six as well.squareslinky said:I have a '10 C2 Cannondale full carbon post.
