2016 red etap hrd issue

So im building my scott rc 2020 addict with the red etap hrd. Im using an 11spd omniracer ti 11-28 cassette and an extralite hubshell. I already used my hangar adjustment tool to make sure all is aligned. Go to put on my rear derailleur and shift to largest cog to begin adjusments (without chain) and i notice the derailleur is off by one cog and wont move to the largest cog. Tried microadjust and the small limit screw to no avail. A 142mm rear shouldnt make a difference here. What am i missing? The derailleur is used but in mint condition.

Update: was using wrong hanger. I needed to swap out this direct mount with standard mount to solve this issue.

I doesn't even look like it will work on the 2nd big cog. What does it look like when you put the scam in the littlest cog RD position, is it way off the cassette on that side?

Yea its off by a cog to the right of the smallest cog. Im wondering if i got a bunk derailleur somehow. Its just weird that it will row the gears properly but offset by so much. Maybe thats why it was for ssle. I put my kit together piece by piece

Your RD hanger may be aligned, but it sounds like it is setup way right. I would take it off and beat it straight, then realign. It may be the wrong hanger.

Given the upper-pulley's axis is far off from that of the cassette....either the hanger is still way out, or the RD cage is bent. I also wonder about needing literally all the b-screw

Yea, that's a WIFLI RD. Which can take up to a 32-tooth cog. The B-screw is maxed out and still not close to clearing the 28T cog.

That thing is wiggedy wiggedy wacked
Hey guys. I was using the wrong derailleur hanger. My frame came with this installed and apparently its for direct mount which pushes the derailleur outboard by ~1 cog. Swapped out with standard mount hanger (didnt realize i had one in the parts bag) and now everything works as it should.
