I am on the lookout for some 50mm clincher wheels probably with alloy braking tracks unless people can tell me why I would be better with full carbon rims?.

Currently on the list I have Zipp 60's, Dura Ace C50's, Fulcrum red wind 50's. Given those choices what would people go for or is there a rim I should think of that is not on my list?

Hed Jets are another with an alloy brake surface worth considering. Though they don't come in exactly 50mm though.

You should also check out FLO wheels...I've read quite a few good things about them. If I ever go aero...I may give them a go.

Consider Giant P-SLR1. 50mm deep, 21 mm wide, 1575gm, al rim with carbon fairing, $1600 list.

DA 9000 C50s would be nice. DA hubs, 23mm wide, 11 speed capable, alu braking surface.

Enve 3.4 Clinchers. They have the best braking I've seen on a carbon rim and they dissipate heat quite efficiently.

The 5 year warranty attests to that.
