I'm sure this has been asked, but my search-fu is weak. Can you use a 9-speed chain on a (Shimano) 10-speed cassette? I'm considering upgrading, and I have a couple spare chains lying around. I was wondering if I would sill be able to use them.

Thanks!

the spacing between each ring on the cassette is reduced on the 10-speed setup, so the outer width of the 10-speed chains is reduced to fit the cassette.

I don't think the wider 9-speed chain will work, but I haven't tried it so i can't say for sure.
