I have a couple of new FSA Pro Chainrings that I want to toss onto my cross bike. Problem is that I'm running a DA 7800 10 speed system and the chainrings are 9 speed. Well, at least the packaging says 9 speed. No mention of 10 speed. These are a few years old, but are 110bcd, so they can't be too old.

Before I go hacking my bike apart, has anyone run into problems with running 9 speed chainrings on a 10 speed system? If so, what kind of problems?

thanks.

Well, all parts are advertised with one group or another... i think he's just talking about the same concept behind advertising brakes as 9 or 10 speed. They just come from the 9 speed group vs. the 10 speed.

I have been told the teeth on the 10 speed small ring are offset towards the large ring to keep the narrow chain from becoming jammed between the rings. as far as that goes thats the only difference I know of.
