Two wheels... alike in dignity... both Shimano 105 hubs.

Wheel A has a 9/10 freehub
Wheel B has a 9/10/11 freehub

I thought I would be sneaky and remove the freehub from Wheel B and put it on Wheel A. After all, they’re both Shimano 105... what could possibly go wrong?

Well, it turns out that the splines where the freehub engages the body of the hub are spaced differently making a straight swap impossible. You have been warned.

If it did match, the axle would also have to be changed. Was the axle a straight steel one, or a more modern oversized stepped one??

Straight steel on both. So, I took the opportunity to repack both sets of bearings and put everything back where it was.
