Yup. Gonna last a week, they say. Yesterday was a high of 102 here in Silicon Valley, and as of 6AM this morning, it was still in the 70s. And I'm maybe a ten minute drive from the Bay. Even SF hit 88, I think.

Not terrible as such things go (try living in Phoenix, right?), but surprising for around here.

Maybe it's God punishing us for the Golden State Warriors being too good. :p

It was 87 by me in the city but the deck was showing 93 in the shade. I did go for a run out by the ocean and it was around 75 according to my car. 64 here this AM...

SF Bay residents in unison: "Drat. This will wilt my kale."

I lived in Ess Eff for about 5 years and the last heat wave about this time of year in '94, my buddy and I decided dammit, it's so hot we're gonna swim at Ocean Beach. We ran in the water, it was so cold my nuts sucked up into my chest and I turned around and ran right back out.

I don't know how those crazies at Aquatic Park do it.

Where are you? It's 74 in the city at 5pm.

I did jump in Ocean Beach after my run yesterday for a quick ice bath...yeah, it is that cold.

77 in the city today but seems to be another day or two of heat inland...

I used to live in Davis (15 miles from Sac), so I can verify that this is, indeed, true. :(

Yeah...I do the drive to Tahoe when we can and never ceases to amaze me the temp swing from SF vs Davis. It's usually 20deg and sometimes 25-30 just ~70mi NE. Davis *seems* worse than SAC...certainly not by much but it usually seems hotter in Davis from a passer thru pov.

The temp swing is actually shorter distance than that. I used to work in Concord, lived in SF. I did the reverse commute and it would be pushing 90-100 on 24 in Walnut Creek, go through the Caldecott tunnel and it would be 75 in the Oakland hills, 65 in the city!

I'll certainly see +25 in Diablo vs SF...pretty much if it's warm here I don't ride Diablo. I have zero heat tolerance now......
