looking for advice on which bike has better components, and is a better bang for the buck, therefor a better bike.

The top bike does have nicer parts, but it's a mixed group, rival/ultegra/dura ace, vs a full 105 group.

But I like the redline frame way more then the other. But that's personnel preference.
