Early 1990s Racing BIK also know as Aegis set up as a fixie with tubulars, with mix of 1990s components described below.
The history: manufactured by Graphite Technology in Maine that took on the different names of Aegis and Racing BIK depending on the year of ownership. This site has a brief history of the brand and roadbikereview has a few reviews.
I've had the bike for many years receiving it from a friend, both of us it used it for old-school fixed gear winter training. 42t x 16t gearing now, can be reconfigured with cables throughout--internal routing--if you desire. It's a fun ride!
There is a small crack at the seat binder--within the top tube, see the picture. It has been there for many years and has not changed in size, the seatpost does not slip, no creaking or other noises. Happy to provide additional hi-rez pictures of it and the bike.
The 20-year old tubulars are clearly dry-rotted and need replacing, wheels are round and true.
Frame measures 55cm to top of seat tube, with a 54.5cm top tube and 14cm head tube. Rear triangle is still 126mm spacing: it is possible to have the replaceable drop outs machined for 130mm.
Here are the components and related dimensions:
-Cinelli XA stem (110mm) with Cinelli 66-40 handlebar (40cm);
-Dura Ace headset;
-Uno 26.8 seatpost with Flite saddle;
-Dura Ace 7400-series brakes;
-Mavic crank, 172.5 arms, 42t SR chainring;
-F wheel is Dura Ace hub laced to Araya Aero 4 tubular rim, 28-hole--true and round;
-R wheel is Mavic hub laced to Mavic GL 330 tubular rim, 32 hole--true and round.
