Hope you guys aren't too tired of these threads-

I am looking to replace my stock wheelset from my '08 Specialized Allez Elite (Jalco dynamics) I can't find out any info on them...

I am a weekend warrior type rider 50 or so miles/wk. mostly flat riding - I weigh 175lbs. Don't race but do an occasional tri-athlon.

considering: Rol Volants, Neuvation R28 Aeros, and just saw these:

DT Swiss RR1.1 with DA hubs, Revolution spokes = on sale for $469

I am looking to keep this in the sub $500 range.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I got a set of neuvation r28 sl3s last year and I love them. I weigh 165 and I have no problems with stiffness or durability. My bike also came with jalcos (looks like they don't have a website) and they're now my training wheelset. Even though I have to true the rear one every other ride (even though it's been rebuilt), I figure it adds to the life of my neuvations. I do group rides and races with the neuvations.

Anyway, I'd go with neuvation because of their ridiculously cheap prices (DON'T go ceramic, it won't make you faster) and great customer service. Or I'd do some more research and get some durable customs. You'll get plenty of responses advising you to get mavic open pro rims laced to ultegra hubs.

thanks for the feed back so far! I appreciate it.

anyone do business with bicyclewheelwarehouse.com ?

I couldn't find much on the warranty and such -
I haven't, but I did notice that their general policy is 'all sales are final' except in 'some circumstances'. Here's the link to more detailed info:

"some circumstances" = those who dispute the charge on their cards with their credit card company.

re: nimble. They haven't updated their website in years, though I think they do this on purpose. The spiders now use the kinlin 22mm rims and I suspect their hubs are the same as Speedcific hubs. I think you'll get a better price with Mike Garcia for the same thing basically.

or for about the same price you could get the same rims and spokes laced to dura ace or record hubs. bicyclewheelwarehouse has dura ace ones for $490 last I checked, though they were 28/32 or 32/32 spoked.
