Has anyone else seen this? If so, did you like it? Art or Artist manually stimulating himself at you?

The movie is heartbreaking-ly sad....then goes into 'art'. I'm having a hard time even understanding the movie. Most movies tell a story...This movie tells a story about witchcraft? emotions? loss? the grieving process? metaphors for any of the previous/combinations. Honestly, I don't know.

I've read several reviews on it and I think the movie was made for it's many WTF moments and gratuitous nudity.

Is it as disturbing as they play it up to be, or does it try to hard?

I pretty much found it to be unwatchable. It is genuinely intense, unlike a normally grosser flick. You might say it tries very hard, and it generally succeeds (unlike something along the lines of Human Centipede, torture porn flicks like the Hostel series, etc.).

As a parent, the beginning is extremely rough to watch. None of the movie seems forced.

I think Lars Von Trier honestly made this movie as an art piece. It's just that his version of art is masturbation, extreme violence and bleak woodland scenery.

I don't think it's a movie I'd recommend...It's worth talking about because it's so very different from anything I'd seen before.

It's WTF moments will make exclaim WTF.
