For commuting get a frame pump

Lezyne, and nothing but.

For sure.

Some mini-pumps are 'okay' but from what I can tell they all suck relative to a decent frame pump. And I get why someone would want a mini-pump but it doesn't apply to commuting IMO.

Most all minipumps are duds.
Get a real frame pump or one of those road morphie dealies most seem to like.
Blackburn c/f frame pump. Light at 200-240g depending on size and works like a charm.

Mine worked like a dud. Had to bum a ride when it failed. :(
Topeqak Road Morph is the best carry with you pump you can buy. Period. I wouldn't consider it a mini pump, though. If you want a good mini pump that works (they all take a long lime & many. many strokes to inflate to pressure? get one of these:

Road Morph is really nice, or the Lezyne Road Drive. I have both and they work well.

I have the Micro Rocket CB and I regret not picking up this one instead.

The handle converts into a T and will make life a little easier for you, considering you need to pump a tire several hundred times to get to the right psi.
i have a lezyne pump, but i can't get it to pump more than 20-30 psi into my tires... is there something wrong with it?
which pump is it?
I have that pump, and use it on my mountain bike. It's a high volume pump and works great to get my tires back to about 30psi (where I run my mtb), but since it's not a high pressure pump I'd bet that it's a pain to get a road tire re-inflated fully.

I 3rd, 4th, 5th Lezyne.
But you need the road version to get 120 psi. I have both a road and mtb version and love them. Light (105 gr for the road) and they push more air per stroke. I have tried the Blackburns and Top Peak. Once you try a lezyne, you won't even look at another. And when I mean try, I mean fixing a tire out on a ride.

They are a tad more expensive. But when you are out there, that $10 more will be well spent.

After using them for years, I've come to not like frame pumps because they get in the way when you carry the bike or pick it up to load it or hang it, etc. I do this a lot with all my bikes, loading them into the car for transport and hanging from the garage ceiling hooks. The top tube frame pump just gets knocked off, or gets in the way when I have to grab the top tube. I agree they work better, but for my usage, they're just a PITA.

FWIW, regarding tiny road bike mini pumps: I can get 100 pounds pretty easy with my Hurricane Micro Mini road bike pump, you just have to know how to use it. I found that slow, deliberate pumps work well, but if you try to pump vigorously, it doesn't work nearly as well. Fortunately I weigh about 165 and ride 25 mm tires on my road bike so 100 lbs is plenty. I don't get a lot of flats though and for the 1-2X per year usage, it's fine.
