Around Town

The weather was cold, the wind was blowing, the light was grey and flat, and I was sick. . .no better time to ride. Actually, I just had to get out and go for some reason. I started out pretty late and the weather was going downhill in a hurry, but I had my DSLR and a couple of hours of light so I thought I might as well give it a go. It's about 15 miles to town from my house so I had to move my tail pretty quickly and still managed to get caught out after dark without a headlight. Thankfully I had my tail light and rode by brail back to my house. Anyway, I had never shot in RAW format before so I thought I'd give it a try. So, you all are my guinea pigs for this post.

Just some random shots from places around Reno.

The Train Trench, Abandoned Casino Walls, and the River

Now, if I could just figure out how to use the histogram and RGB editing stuff I'll be set. I think I'd better learn to play with my photo software a little better. But, at least it's fun to play with.

Yep, the Truckee. Reno has grown like crazy and the downtown area is kind of a mess IMO (not that it was ever that wonderful). Lots of condos and stuff replacing the casinos.

Winters give us about 3 months of pretty cold and crappy weather. The wind is the biggest issue. Reno is about 350,000 if you include all the suburbia sprawling out in all directions. It's not too big overall.
