I have a 2006 Raleigh Grand Sport with Alex DA-16 wheels. The spokes have been spontaneously breaking about 5 inches from the rims. Each time this has happened I was not riding the bike. Does any know what is causing this. Thanks
Our shop sold raleigh road bikes in 2006 and we had many issues with those wheels. Probably 3 or 4 sets were warrantied and we sold them something else instead. I think they are junk, the spoke tension from the factory is horrible and the whole wheel is low quality. If the tension was not dialed in before purchase then the wheel was ridden under tension and that could be causing the fatigue.
