Is a Deda Elementi 31.7mm OS stem compatible with 31.8mm OS ITM bars. Does the .1mm make any difference?
Some people/companies like to round 31.75mm either high or low...alas that 1 1/4" does not convert to a nice integer value in metric:(

I'll disagree...

With today's open-faced stems, a .1mm difference should not be a problem.

To say with absolute certainty, you would need the manufacturer's drawings that include the upper and lower limits of the bar OD and stem ID.

In the worst case, if a slight interfence is felt at the parting surface of the stem or faceplate, filing a very small chamfer along the offending edges will eliminate any interference.

At least they round off! Someone posted this morning about wrenchsize.com having computed his reach to be 636.9 mm . . . :D

FWIW, 0.1 mm is the thickness of one sheet of bond paper, so it makes no difference in a stem-to-bar fit whatsoever. As someone said, it's substandard edge finish that Deda wants to steer people away from by insisting on "Deda only". Plus, it can't hurt the profits.

But dammmit I **need** 12 significant figs for every single measurement!:p:D
