became intrigued with the BB30 standard while considering different chainring/crankset options for my 'cross bike and noticed that FSA now has an aftermarket bb30 crankset available for ~$300 (US). as far as i could tell, cannondale's the only game in town and they're only selling complete bikes. but honestly, thirty-five hundred for an alloy frame with equipe wheels? it looks like the way to go (if one feels a stong need to have a 'cross bike with bb30 for 2009) is with the cyclocross 5 for $1700. but there's still gonna be alotta parts left over after getting the bike properly spec'd out.
I can't find anything that specifically mentions this on their website right now, but I believe the Van Dessel cross bikes are BB30 now. At least the Gin & Trombones is available with a BB30 shell.
no, not me. just got a ridley for the 2009 'cross season and we are still in the honeymoon phase of our relationship. maybe in a coupla years.
the bb30 is intriguing from a technological standpoint. i have a 24mm from front hub on my mountain bike and that looks big.
