They should be press fit, if they slip in by hand the frame is damaged. You are correct about the size.

Not always the case, there were some issues with the Trek BB90 tolerances, consequently they also make a 37.1x24x7 bearing to take up the tolerance free play. I have these fitted to one of my Domanes which use the same BB.

If the 37.0 slips right in chances are the V2 bearing won't be tight enough either, but yes, there is a slightly larger bearing to help keep things snug. I've installed bearings in at least a few hundred BB90/95 frames, sometimes they work...sometimes they don't.

I have a bike (2011 MADONE 5.2 Taiwan) that is slip fit,or at least I hope it is. Thanks for the help.
