San Dimas, California - With 12 laps of a tough road circuit and 60 seconds of time bonuses on offer, Stage 2 of the San Dimas Stage Race was always going to be a tough day for Fly V australia.

As expected attacks came from the peloton almost immediately putting pressure on the Yellow Jersey to defend the race lead. Fly V Australia were content to let the break hover between 40 and 50 seconds thus absorbing the valuable time bonuses on offer.

Race leader, Ben Day said, "The problem initially with our strategy was that the first few breaks that initially established themselves had dangerous riders in them, dangerous for the overall that is. As a result we had to chase them down and bring them back. My teammates were fantastic today basically riding on the front for 150 km. In the end it was because of them that I got to retain the jersey heading into the final stage."

Fly V australia will head into the final stage, the Old Town Criterium with an 8 second advantage over fellow Aussie Sid Taberlay (Specialized) and a further 3 seconds to Paul Mach (Bissell).
