I've always liked Cycle Sport and Procycling. They have the best European coverage, race results and photography.

I'll breakdown and purchase a copy of Bicycling if I'm stuck at the airport since that's all most newstands seem to carry there.

roadbike action - new mag, way better than bicycling
Just about anything is.

I hear Jan Heine's Bicycling Quarterly is quite good... may check that out some time.

Velonews or Cycle Sport for pro coverage.
Bicycling is fun for general cycling stuff, but chock full of annoying, trite, fluff. How many "Get fitter, faster", or "Climb better in two weeks" articles can you stomach?
I find Road Bike Action somewhat lacking in polish and professionalism, but something about it is oddly refreshing all the same.

+1 for the photos in Roleur, they would be hard to compete with

Velonews is starting to evolve but IMO there is still too much content that is really stale by the time the magazine gets there and some of the articles are starting to sound way too much like something from Bicycling.

A magazine that covers mostly types of riding that I don't do but that I still enjoy reading is Bike.

I subscribe to Procycling. has a european feel that I like due to most bike shop ads being for European stores. has nice glossy photos and good articles.

Cycle Sport is also good but I only pick that up when I'm at a bookstore.

I'm sure Velonews would be very good, but I read it daily online, so don't bother with the hardcopy.
