Both are about the same price. Right now I'm leaning towards the Fuji because the white looks bad ass. Just wondering how the components stack up to one another, or better yet, anyone have any first hand experience?

the Fuji would have a notch better components IMO but it`s a close call either way really as 105 is roughly midway up the ladder for road components and Deore-SLX is also roughly midway up the ladder for MTB components.. I think you answered your question yourself when you said your leaning more towards the Fuji just cuz of the color... the components are too close to be a bother I would say.. buy the one you like the looks better.. or that fits better.. or whatever.. just be riding dangit! lol

The thing is that for $300 more you can be riding a Fuji Team carbon fiber bike that will be more comfortable then the aluminum will ever be.

But to the OP: if anything, the top tube angle of the Fuji, as well as the components, are more fitting to a possible "road conversion" sans the brakes if you're ever inclined to do so in the long run.

Marty pretty much said it with the components. Deore-SLX might be heavier, but you can't really notice that as they function just as well as 105.

Also the trek is 9-spd and the Fuji is 10-spd....
