My uncle just passed along to me his Bianchi Limited he bought in 1986 (black with red Bianchi logos). I don't know anything about its history and was curious.

It has Shimano 600 gear throughout including the headset. Constructed with a Columbus tubeset for frame and fork. The Shimano hubs are laced to Ambrosio rims and it has a Bianchi labeled suede Concor saddle.

Is this one of the Italian made versions? Or, is it Japanese in origin? Nowhere on the frame is there an indication of manufacturing location.

It hasn't been ridden in anger since 1988 consequently the wheels feel "gummy" when spinning. The shifting, however, is spot on. Planning on having the wheels overhauled and using this as my fun bike. Pictures to come soon.

It sounds sweet...from the Bianchi thread of a couple of weeks ago, it seems there is some debate as to where it was made...some say all Columbus tubed were made in Italy while others say some might have been made in Japan..

Either way, you have a very high quality bike.....
