So it has to be said. Big Brown skipped his May steroid shot because the owners wanted to prove he didn't need the drugs to win. Looks like that was a $100M mistake.
Since nothing was wrong with the horse other than it just didn't have power, it makes you wonder how much it really needed those PEDs. If it can make that much of a difference (Triple Crown vs dead last) in a horse, what can it do for humans? Is it really even possible to race at the pro level without the drugs?
