Any other big guys out there love to climb........I'm 6'0" and about 210#. I LOVE hills, I was on a group ride the other night and I pulled on almost every hill, and made it to the top first by quite a bit. Most of the other riders were smaller than me, one of them said...."Damn, for a big guy, you sure can climb"........I think I might be addicted....I love the pain, the cramps, that pre-syncopal feeling, the shortness of breath.......am I the only big guy that loves hills?

Yes.

Actually, while I don't love climbing... I love surviving long climbs.

I love surviving long climbs

That almost describes my feeling, except that it's more like the old joke about asking someone why he's hitting his head against the wall, to which he responds "Because it feels so good when I stop...."

Totally agree...

Not often do you see a 6'9", 215 lbs guy who likes to climb, but that's me. I routinely ride with some guys who I'm faster than up the hills, but to keep my ego in check I do ride with some Jose Rubino (sp?) like guys (who weigh 130 lbs) that keep me honest.

I am currently 215 and 6'2". I can drop people on the shorter hills by powering up the incline. Longer hills and epic climbs are not my strength. When I race, I try to hurt the climbers by motoring over the short hills and pretty much playing to my strength. When we get to a longer climb I want to make sure the little guys are hurting.
