As pointed out above this does come up often, but it only takes a second to reply so...

I have a rider on my house insurance for three bikes $2000, $2000, and $6000 costs me about a $1 per day (about $360 per year).

What I like about it is that it covers a bunch of stuff like Damage and theft. The Damage in that if I am haling the bike on the roof rack on the car and the bike gets damaged, the damage to the bike is covered by the Rider.

The Car Insurance only covers PD and PL any physical damage to the bike would be my responsibility, so by adding the rider to house insurance I am more throughly protected.

This is in Canada, I don't know what the insurance laws are like in the US.
