I wanted to take pictures of my bike but I live in an apartment and only have a carport without a garage door to use as a backdrop. Does this mean that I can't take pictures? I don't want to break any rules.

Yes those are the rules. So here is what you must do.
Go to a neighborhood and set your bike up in the street. Now backup about fifty feet and take a telephoto shot of the bike. The house in the background will look like the bike is next to it.
If anybody asks what you are doing tell them you are taking a photography class in college.

Do you think this house would be okay? I wonder if I can set my bike against his garage door?

Take a pic of your bike, and then as background, photoshop in one of the following:

– Barad-dur
– the Gates of Hell
– the Playboy Mansion
– LV-426
– a hot tub full of bikini-clad cheerleaders
– Mars
– a nude beach
– a nude beach on Mars
