Every once in a while I get a screw or bolt with Blue Lock tight stuff that is Dried on the threads. I have been using Regular Blue lock tight on some stuff but it doesn't dry thick like some of the stuff that comes already on some screws and bolts.

What is the thicker Blue thread lock that is dried on threads ?

Thanks

That's not really the same stuff. The pre-applied stuff you saw is a gummy stuff that dries in air after application, then leaves a gummy semi-solid. 248, like the liquid 242 you're accustomed to using, is an anaerobic adhesive that only cures in the absence of oxygen after assembly. The reason you've noted that it "doesn't dry thick" is that in the open air it never really cures at all. It's meant to be applied just before assembly, and it does cure when used that way. There's no special advantage to the pre-applied stuff except convenience.
