I've been saving my pennies to upgrade to a Look 595 but I've noticed that some of the Astana Pro Machine frames are going for $2K now so I'm now interested in the BMC. Has anyone tried both the 595 and Pro Machine? I'm currently riding a Look 555 (2005 model).

I think you'll find the 595 to be a stiffer / harsher ride than the BMC. Both are really nice frames though.

I've just ordered a BMC Pro Machine myself.

From what i've read it depends on the kind of ride / rider you want / are:

Comfort / Climber- BMC

Stiffness / Sprinter - Look

I'm built more like a sprinter and I bought the BMC as I want a more comfortable bike for long training rides. I don't race.

You can't really go wrong with either. I preferred the look of the BMC and the fact it does not have an integrated seatpost. I don't have the longest of legs and for me to re-sell it later on would have been a problem. Travel is another reason - as it's difficult to put a 595 in a bike bag.
