Hello,
My name is Robb. Live in Grand Rapids, Michigan.I'm 6'1" tall and weigh about 225 pounds.
I have a Schwinn 5 speed townie, just for wandering around the city, not racing. The tires are wide. I'm pretty sure they are "tube-type" tires.
I can fill the tires to the maximum stated pressure, and the back tire still bulges where it meets the pavement. I know that I work a lot harder peddling than I should just because of the tire profile when riding.
People take one look at that tire back tire and warn me that it's going flat. Little do they know it's at max pressure. I'm getting real tired of riding this way..:mad2:
Do you bike experts have any advice for me other than lose weight? LOL
What options do I have?
Are there large diameter, wide tires or tubes available that can take a higher pressure? If so, where do I buy such tires? What do I ask for?
Can I over-inflate the tires I have now so they ride right but won't blow out as I'm riding?
Thanks for your help.
Robb
