Boulder County has begun some preliminary work replacing culverts on James
Canyon Drive from Lefthand Canyon Drive to Jamestown. Cyclists should expect
sections of unpaved road and construction activities along this stretch of road
from now through mid-August.

Other construction projects include:

* Nelson Road - US36 to 75th Street. Boulder County is in the process of
constructing bikeway shoulders along Nelson Road from US36 (Foothills Highway)
to 75th Street. Cyclists should expect construction activities, single-lane
traffic during construction, and uneven pavement conditions along individual
stretches of roadway from mid-March to mid-August.

* Valmont Road - 57th Street to 61st Street. Boulder County is continuing work
on the Valmont Road crossing of South Boulder Creek. Cyclists should expect
continued and changing road detours through the project until late summer 2006.

Although they are working on Nelson Road, and have been for a while, I've generally found it to be passable throughout the construction.

Have they actually started the work on the road to Jamestown yet? They've had the signs up for quite a while now, but no sign of activity as far as I've seen.

As of yesterday, construction on the road to Jamestown has not yet started.

However, mile marker 12 through 16 of Left Hand Canyon just below Ward has recently been chip sealed. They have not yet swept the road, so there is loose gravel on the road.

Nelson Road has been nicely widened eastbound from US 36 to almost 63rd street. They don't have it painted yet, but it's very smooth and there's plenty of room for a bike lane. The westbound lane has not been done yet.
