my husband is having trouble getting the little rubber things on his brake cable to stay put. when he hits any kind of bump, you can hear the cable rattle on his tube. anyone have any solutions for this problem? would supergluing the rubber things do anything unwanted to the cable? thanks!

Go to a good full service hardware store in your area and look through the little bins for rubber "O" rings. You'll find them in bizarrely small sizes. One size will fit tightly over the cable and not slide around. Bring a scrap of cable for a test fit and you'll be golden.

A buck or so will fix you up good without having to glue anything.

How old are they? ... After a few years they tend to start to slip. ..They can be replaced, or you can put a dab of rubber cement on the cable.
