I have a SRAM force caliper that the metal rubs when the caliper is squeezed together. You can see where the rubbing has occured. I took it apart to see if it is a bushing problem or if it can be rebuilt. Is it toast? I unfortnately don't know how the part of the pivot goes together (Washers and bearing fell out before I could catch it ). I will take the other caliper apart carefully to see how everything goes together. The levers don't look bent but it clearly rubs where the two levers meet. See photo:

I have force calipers on my new bike, and I haven't noticed any rubbing. I will check this afternoon (I'm stuck in class right now) but I would take mine to an LBS if that sort of thing happened to it. They will either fix it or replace it if it's faulty.
