Hey there, im looking at building up 2 new bikes for 06, and want to have one bike single ring and the other double ring (but the front der controlled by a barcon).

Therefore, my left hand is going to be holding onto a non-STI brake lever on both bikes. Will the Cane Creek levers work for both sides? I want to only buy one pair but use both of them.

Using a right side brake lever on the left side will work reasonably well but it will result in a slightly less than ideal cable routing that may make your handle bar have a different shape under the bar tape.

the lever blades on the cane creek levers are ergo so i don't think it'd be too comfy to hold on to the wrong way.
