I've had good luck with salmon/black combo pads and the salmon colored pads, even though I never ride in the wet (on purpose anyway).

I bought some '08 Record skeleton brakes this year and immediately had problems with the stock brake pads. I got a lot of gritty sounds from the front wheel and the pads wanted to grab aluminum particles from the rims. I picked out the aluminum and sanded the pads lightly with 120 grit paper and then wet sanded the braking surface of the rims with 400 grit sandpaper. This helped to reduce the noise, but after the first ride, there were more aluminum particles imbedded in the front pads. I gave up and installed the salmon pads along with a light wet sanding of the rim. Now I've got silent and powerful braking.

I'm having the same trouble with the stock Dura Ace pads. They continue to get sand and very small rocks imbedded in the rubber. Thanks fo the tip.
