Getting parts together to rebuild a buddy's bike. Older red bridgestone RB-2, serial number H720090

Frame takes a 1" headset, but not sure if I need a headset with a 27.0 or 26.4 crown race. The fork measures out at about 26.85mm.

Anyone know for sure?

while I've only done one or two, I would suggest that logically the tubing would be built up from the original diameter. hence if it was tange 26.8 tubing by your measurement, then the crown race seat would likely be 27 mm.

The only way to know for sure is to actually measure the seat.

+1..that is my guess as well....and since most Japanese bike from that era were JIS threaded, it makes sense
