I am looking for a pair of wheelset with a budget of around $250. It has to be reasonably light (Less than 1.7kg) and spins well, anyone got any suggestion?

I only got in mind:
Planet-X Model B Alloy Wheelset (Fr: 705g + Rr: 948g) ~$150

I am not familiar with the wheelset you are considering. In general, light+cheap = not durable, but there may be exceptions.

I disagree with the Neuvation suggestion. Had a rear wheel taco out on me, lucky to be alive. Great replacement service but for what.
IMHO, their wheels are flexy and weak.

Fuzionwheels.com Unbelievably good wheels for 175.00. My 190lbs have about 2k miles on them with zero problems.
Not the lightest (heavy hubs) but the rim is light so they feel snappy. Roll super smooth too. I like them better than my 105 wheelset.
For training or general use, I highly recomend.

Yep the OP should go with wheels built by human beings in N.Am. It's really tough to better their deals. They have wheelsets in every pricerange and all of them are priced right.

Really? They are Kinlin rims built up with sapim spokes, pretty much the same as everything else out there. Now if you’re a Clydesdale on a low spoke high tension rim, you might crack a hub flange or something, but there is nothing unique to those wheels that would cause them to perform any differently than anything else of similar design.
