I see that spoke tension on Zipp rims is now recommended to be 100kg which is reasuring but I wanted to now how hard people pre-tension the spokes to seat the "J" into the hub? With the aluminium rims I've used to date things have been easy, just pull as hard as I can, but at the price of Zipps I'm more worried that I might pull the nipple through and crack the rim like a friend of a friend did, owch...

If anyone has experience building with Zipp rims and can offer reasurances, warnings or other advice I'd love to hear from ya!

You should be able to build with them like any other rim. Seating/spoke line correction can't be done properly with full tension anyway. The added stress isn't enough to break a rim. When at around 80% of final tension it's also a good idea to give a _light_ tap on the spoke heads with a small hammer and punch.
