What are the main advantages of getting a C50 with a sloping top tube as opposed to the standard sizing. Is it going to be lighter and more stiff to ride?

Also the ability to get a frame that more closely suits your personal physiology. For example, I have shortish legs but a long torso, so I am looking at a sloping C-50 because it gives me a long enough top tube without having to get a frame that is too tall.

True! Being as I am close to average build, I like most people don't have to worry about such differences. I have however fitted one friend with a compact for precisely the reason that you mention.
