I have an older CAAD4 frame that I'm trying to hang my parts on and I'm having issues with chainline. I've put an Ultegra 6500 octalink double crankset on it, and an Ultegra B6500 68x109.5 BB and when the chain is in the small ring and the outermost 2-3 cogs in the back it rubs on the front chainring. Do I have the wrong spindle length on it? The cassette is an Ultegra 9 speed 12-23. Any wisdom out there on this issue would be appreciated.

Keetowah, IMHO this is almost normal. I ride a CAAD4 Saeco frameset that I have built according to Cannon's specs and mine rubs too, when on the two smaller cogs and the small chainring. Shimano suggests not to run the chain on the edges (small fr/small rear or large fr/large rear).

Anyone with more experience on this?
