Any tips?

Standard barrel adjusters riveted to the down tube, external cable routing. Gear cables buzz against the inside of the barrel adjuster threaded tube.

I have tried putting various plastic tubes up inside the adjuster threaded part, eg the polyethylene core from gear housing; part of a ballpoint pen ink tube.

I have also tried putting an MTB cable donut where the cable exits the adjuster and Super Gluing it in place.

Nothing really helps.

I think I need some soft rubber tube about 2 mm in diameter to put up there. Or..... ??

Thanks!

Are you using the correct size ferrule, on the end of the cable housing, where it inserts into the threaded part of the barrel adjuster? I put the wrong size ferrule on some Shimano cable housing once, and the buzzing sound occurred.
