I am in the process of upgrading components on my bike, over the last year have had multi problems with cables. What's the best cable, ride year round, last year put in about 2800 mi. I am looking for a cable that going to hold up and give great performance as well.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've never had any problems using Shimano Dura-Ace cables. Excellent quality and good value. I tried Jagwire racing cables that came with weird ferrules that didn't really fit my bike and i pulled the steel from the housing straight through them after not that many miles even though I cut the cables neatly. Shimano offers the advantage that you don't really have to cut shifter cable housing when you're not riding a really small bike. Others will probably have completely different views, but hey that's what forums are for. :)
