Campy has a plastic barrier on its Chorus 11 RD cable casing ferrule.
The plastic barrier and the tip that holds the barrier do not fit through the opening in my frame's braze-on.

I favor ditching it and using a standard ferrule.
Whatdoyousay?
Is that barrier must-have bicycle technology?

I assume you are talking about the little rubber boot? Not necessary, but will make things better if you ride in be wet and mess a lot.

I got this in a recent cable package. It would make sense to install it to protect the bare cable as it exits the stop on the rear derailleur, on it's way to the clamp. It obviously does not replace a ferrule.

Has any one seen instructions for this?

I'm guessing you are talking about the ferrule with that the rubber accordion boot mounts to? If so why not open up the slot (file/drill bit) and use it and the boot.
