1) Is 2010 Campy Chorus at all compatible with cassettes from 6600 Shimano Ultegra and the cassettes manufactured by IRD?

2) Is 2010 Campy Chorus lighter than 2010 SRAM Rival? If so is the weight significant, or just a matter of 25 or 50 grams?

1) 2010 Campy Chorus is 11 speed...no...it is not compatible w/ Shimano, which...last time i checked is 10 speed. and no, J-Tek doesn't make a pulley that will make that work.
2) as for weights, all that info is most likely on the respective manufactuers web sites...or on some online retailers web sites.

Ah! I forgot the 11-speed part. I ask because I wanted to know which new groupset Chorus or Rival are compatible with all my Shimano cassettes. I guess I know the answer now: Rival.

As for weight, I've read somewhere Rival is lighter than Dura Ace 7800, which is good enough for me.

Yes, they do. Shiftmate #4 will adapt Campy11 speed to Shimano 10 speed (and shimano rear derailleur).

Not that it matters to you now, but Competitive Cyclist puts the Chorus gruppo at 2166 grams, with the Rival at 2280. About a quarter pound.

pretty sure he was talking about campy shifters/derailleur and a shimano cassette...that won't work.
